Alex Bowling first came across Chiropractic and acupuncture after dislocating his shoulder whilst leading a kayak expedition more than 10 years ago. Alex has a firm background in sports related injuries having led kayak courses both in the U.K and overseas for a number of years. His initial training was on the 5 year Masters course at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth.
During his Chiropractic training, Alex Bowling completed his education in Acupuncture with Dr. John Reynolds (MRCP Dip Med Ac. DOccMed. FISM) at the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
In his final year, Dr. Bowling was asked to practice in the prestigious Sports Injury Clinic at Bournemouth University with its elite athletes. He also presented his dissertation on leg length inequality to the Chiropractor, Osteopath and Physiotherapist annual conference in 2006.
Dr. Bowling has taken particular interest in certain fields within Chiropractic & Acupuncture. These include; pre and post-surgical care, neck pain & headaches, preventative care, acute nerve damage, as well as sports rehabilitation.
Since graduation, Dr. Bowling has been in a busy practice in rural Norfolk before relocating in Somerset. Alex and his wife, Christa, now live much closer to family and friends with their 2 children in Taunton.

Here in the U.K the title of Chiropractor is protected by law, so you can be sure that anyone using the title has trained for up to five years and must be a member of the General Chiropractic council.
Chiropractors are trained to diagnose, take and interpret x-rays. Chiropractors also give specific exercises and advise on work ergonomics and pain medication.
