Whatever the cause of the acute episode, most patients are able to get you back on track within a few weeks of hands-on care. Normally, three to five treatments should help for the majority of your symptoms. . We arrange our treatments around your schedule.
Once movement is comfortable, it's an ideal time to strengthen and rehabilitate the spine.
Your Chiropractor will progressively replace hands-on treatment with exercises and stretches that you can do at home, to put YOU in the driving seat.
As your spinal movement eases, you will require less treatment. At this stage, patients may be receiving care monthly.
Many patients decide to come in occasionally for maintenance or preventative care.
Like going to the dentist, once you are pain free, we suggest occasional check-ups to prevent relapse.
Sadly, research on the chances of a second episode of back pain after a first incident is staggeringly high. Research in the journal Spine suggests that 60 to 86% of patients reporting recurrent back pain symptoms within the first twelve months. [Spine (2001) 26 (11): E243-E248].
Most people understand the sense in having their car serviced every year, rather than waiting for it to break down. Why not have an MOT every 3-6 months, rather than wait for symptoms to make you to seek care?
